This report presents a detailed cost analysis of butyl acrylate production from n-butanol and propylene using propylene oxidation process. In this process, propylene is first oxidised to produce a gas containing acrylic acid. The acrylic acid produced is separated from the gas via its absorption in water and then purified to ester-grade acrylic acid using a light solvent. Finally, acrylic acid combines with n-butanol and undergoes an esterification process to produce butyl acrylate.
