Coromandel International Formally Greenlit the New Sulfuric Acid Plant at Kakinada
Coromandel international one of the leading agricultural brands in India, have recently approved for setting up a new chemical plant at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India. The group has agreed to set up a plant making an investment of 1,029 crore INR, dedicated to the production of phosphoric and sulfuric acid at the Kakinada fertilizer unit, A.P.
The Approval to the New Chemical Plants Gears the Production Expectations
The new chemical plant approved by the Coromandel International board is expected to increase the existing 1550 TPD of phosphoric acid and 4200 TPD of sulfuric acid production levels. It is proposed to boost the production while adding another 750 TPD of phosphoric acid and 1800 TPD of sulfuric acid capacity to the existing production levels within a span of 24 months.
The Proposed Plan Aims to Build Kakinada an Integrated Facility
With the approval of the new chemical plant set up at Kakinada, Coromandel International aims to reduce the dependence on imports and develop Kakinada as an integrated facility. The project is to be funded through internal loans with an investment of 1 029 crore INR. According to the Vice Chairman of Coromandel International, Arun Alagappan, the project primarily aligns with the company’s objectives.
It is anticipated to amplify the production levels of the Kakinada fertilizer units, ensuring sufficient raw materials for its fertilizer production. Moreover, the project aims to improve the company’s cost efficiency and will hopefully contribute towards the national vision of ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat.’
