Lead Production Cost Breakup via Mining, Crushing, Flotation, Filtering, Roasting, Blasting, Refining and Casting
Details: Germany - based plant Q1 2024 | From $ USD
This report provides a comprehensive cost evaluation of lead production via mining, crushing, floatation, filtering, roasting, blasting, refining and casting. The process involves mining the lead ores using drilling, blasting and shovelling techniques. The ores are then crushed into fine particles led by a floatation process where sulfur and other impurities are separated from the ground ore.
The thus obtained lead slurry is filtered to remove water and to concentrate lead, after which it is sent for smelting and roasting, where the ore is further heated to remove the remaining sulfur and forming sinters made up of lead oxide and other minerals which are loaded into a blast furnace for the blasting process to produce molten lead. The molten lead is further refined in the drossing kettle to produce refined lead, which is finally cast into blocks.
