Peppermint Oil Production Cost Breakup via steam distillation from the shoots and leaves of peppermint herb
Details: Germany - based plant Q1 2024 | From $ USD
This report provides an extensive cost evaluation of Peppermint Oil production from the shoots and leaves of peppermint herb. The manufacturing process of Peppermint Oil occurs via steam distillation. The process starts with harvesting the shoots and leaves of the peppermint herb. The shoots are boiled with water in a heating vessel for 20–40 minutes to release steam that carries the peppermint oil vapor. This steam is transferred to a condenser, followed by cooling it with recirculating water to convert the vapor back into liquid form. The liquid mixture of water and peppermint oil is directed to a separator, where the oil and water naturally separate due to their immiscibility. The water, which settles at the bottom, is drained and recycled back to the heating vessel. This process is repeated until most of the oil is extracted. Finally, after the extraction is complete, the remaining water is drained, and the Peppermint Oil is collected.
