At the beginning of the year, 18 steel projects in China were constructed, put into production, and then restarted. Valin Liangang, Zhanjiang Iron and Steel, Fujian Longgang, and Hegang Handan Iron and Steel are among those that have begun construction; the Yongxing Special Steel and Angang Iron and Steel projects have resumed production; and other steel projects, such as Gaoyi Iron and Steel, have been put into service. As a consequence of the local Winter Olympics, environmental protection industrial constraints, and the situation in Russia and Ukraine in February 2022, the price of raw materials has risen considerably which has fluctuated needle coke prices.
