Polyplex Corporation Ltd. commences with the trial runs for its new BOPET thin film production line

Polyplex Corporation Ltd. has announced the start of trial runs at its U.S. subsidiary, Polyplex (USA) LLC (PU), for a newly installed BOPET thin film production line. The brownfield expansion adds 50,000 metric tons per year (MT p.a.) of capacity, increasing PU’s total U.S. BOPET film production to 81,000 MT p.a.
In a parallel development, the company has completed debottlenecking at its PET resin plant, boosting capacity from 58,000 MT p.a. to 86,000 MT p.a. The company consistently stays as one of the largest and most cost-competitive BOPET thin film producers in the U.S. market.
The combined investment for these projects totals approximately $124 million, financed through internal accruals and borrowings. Commercial production is expected to begin shortly, strengthening Polyplex’s leadership in the North American market.
