In July 2019, the Union government allocated 170 acres to BPCL by selling the land belonging to FACT, a public sector entity involved in fertilizer production. This plot is located next to the oil refiner's Ambalamedu plant. Furthermore, BPCL has secured an additional 170 acres on a long lease from Kinfra (Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation), which will also be used for this ambitious project.
According to Procurement Resource, BPCL is advancing a notable Rs 5,200 crore polypropylene project in Kochi to boost homopolymer-grade polypropylene production. With land allocations from the Union government and Kinfra, and collaborative efforts with state leadership, the initiative underscores BPCL's strategic commitment. This venture not only emboldens BPCL's industrial footprint but also reinforces Kerala's position in India's dynamic industrial landscape.
