Chlorine Production Cost Reports
Chemicals
Chlorine production cost report provides a comprehensive analysis and know-how for setting up a Chlorine production plant. The study covers all the requisite aspects that one needs to know for the production of Chlorine. This includes manufacturing processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure requirements, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, etc.
Chlorine (Cl) is a chemical element that is the second lightest member of the halogen elements belonging to the Group 17 of the periodic table. It has a pungent and irritating odour. It is a toxic and corrosive chemical that appears to be greenish-yellow in colour.
Its atomic number is 17, and its weight is between 35.446 and 35.457 g/mol. It has a melting and boiling point of −103 °C and 34 °C, respectively. Its density is around 2.5 times greater than air. It is not flammable but might ignite near common substances like acetylene, ether, turpentine, ammonia, natural gas, hydrogen, and finely divided metals. It is somewhat soluble in water and reactive towards moisture for forming hypochlorous acid (HClO) and hydrochloric acid (HCl).
Chlorine is mainly used to disinfect water and for sanitising sewage and industrial waste, which is driving its market growth. It is extensively used in household and industrial cleaning products, furthering its market demand. Furthermore, in the production of paper and cloth, it is used as a bleaching agent.
Also, it is employed for preparing chlorides, pesticides, chlorinated solvents, refrigerants, polymers, and synthetic rubbers. In addition, chlorine is added to make PVC, which is used to make products like car interiors, electrical wiring insulation, water pipes, vinyl flooring, etc. It also works like an oxidising agent and in substitution reactions. It is also used to manufacture many products like antiseptics, dyestuffs, insecticides, paints, medicines, textiles, and solvents, among others.
Chlorine Production Cost Processes with Cost Analysis
Chlorine Production via Oxidation
This report presents a detailed cost analysis of chlorine production from hydrogen chloride obtained from the production of organochlorine compounds via oxidation, also known as the Deacon process.
Details: Germany - based plant Q1 2024 From $ 2249.00 USD
Chlorine Production from Hydrogen Chloride via Electrolysis
This report presents a detailed cost analysis of chlorine production from hydrogen chloride using the electrolysis process.
Details: Germany - based plant Q1 2024 From $ 2249.00 USD
Chlorine Production from Electrolysis of salt
This process involves the electrolysis of brine sodium chloride. This results in the release of wet chlorine gas from one of the terminals.
Details: Germany - based plant Q1 2024 From $ 2249.00 USD
Chlorine Production from chlor-alkali process
The salt used for this process is NaCl. Usually we get NaCl with a lot of impurities of magnesium and Calcium sulphate which are removed using soda ash and barium chloride.
Details: Germany - based plant Q1 2024 From $ 2249.00 USD
