Its autoignition temperature is around 480 °C. When heated, Ethylaniline can decompose, emitting highly toxic fumes of aniline and nitroxides. It can be synthesized through the reaction of aniline with an alcohol or an alkyl halide.

In industrial applications, Ethylaniline is a crucial chemical in various synthesis processes. It is primarily used in organic synthesis to produce chemicals such as poly(N-Ethylaniline) (PNEA), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films containing NEA, 2-(arylaminomethyl)phenylboronic acid, 2-(N-ethylphenylamino)-1,4-benzoquinone, and more. Additionally, it finds use in the production of cure accelerators, pigments, optical brighteners, dye stabilizers, gunpowder stabilizers, and vulcanization accelerators. The versatility of Ethylaniline makes it an important component in various market segments, particularly in the chemical and colorant industries.
