Linagliptin, commercially known as Tradjenta, is a white-to-yellow crystalline solid, having the molecular formula C25H28N8O2 and a molecular weight of 472.5 g/mol. Its melting point is 202 °C. Its water solubility is <1 mg/mL. Its pKa value is 9.86. It is soluble in soluble in methanol, sparingly soluble in ethanol, and slightly soluble is isopropanol. It is stable at normal conditions; however, it should be avoided from oxidizing agents. It is slightly hygroscopic. Linagliptin is an oral antihyperglycemic drug.
