Lisinopril Production Cost Reports

Healthcare

The report provides a detailed analysis essential for establishing a Lisinopril manufacturing plant. It encompasses all critical aspects necessary for Lisinopril production, including the cost of Lisinopril production, Lisinopril plant cost, Lisinopril production costs, and the overall Lisinopril manufacturing plant cost. Additionally, the study covers specific expenditures associated with setting up and operating a Lisinopril production plant. These encompass manufacturing processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure needs, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, and more.

Lisinopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used to treat hypertension, heart failure, and myocardial infarction. It inhibits the angiotensin-converting enzyme, thus preventing the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, which is a potent vasoconstrictor. It also inhibits the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone (RAAS) system. Additionally, Lisinopril is also used to manage diabetic neuropathy by reducing proteinuria (elevated levels of protein in the urine) and protecting kidney function. It is also functional in managing proteinuric chronic kidney disease and has its use in post-transplant erythrocytosis.

The procurement for Lisinopril is influenced by its therapeutic applications in the pharmaceutical and medical industries as a potent and effective antihypertensive drug used to treat hypertension, heart failure, myocardial infarction, and other cardiovascular ailments. Additionally, its use in conditions such as diabetic neuropathy and proteinuric chronic kidney disease contributes to its growing market presence. The widespread occurrence of hypertension and heart diseases and an aging population boosts the demand for Lisinopril. It is also recommended in post-heart attack recovery. Its cost-effectiveness as a generic medication enhances its market appeal.

The improvement in the drug-delivery system further boosts its industrial significance. Conclusively, the industrial Lisinopril procurement is influenced by its therapeutic applications in pharmaceutical and medical industries, its off-label uses, increased prevalence of hypertension and heart diseases, cost-effectiveness, market dynamics, logistics and distribution, advancement in healthcare, and regulatory approvals.

Raw Material for Lisinopril Production

According to the Lisinopril manufacturing plant project report, the key raw material used in the production of Lisinopril includes L-lysine.

Manufacturing Process of Lisinopril

The extensive Lisinopril production cost report consists of the following major industrial manufacturing process:

  • Production from L-lysine: The manufacturing process of Lisinopril involves several steps. In the first step, L-lysine reacts with ethyl trifluoroacetate to produce N6-trifluoroacetyl-L-lysine. This compound is then treated with triphosgene to form N6-trifluoroacetyl-N2-carboxy-L-lysine anhydride, which is further condensed with L-proline to obtain N6-trifluoroacetyl-L-lysyl-L-proline (intermediate). This intermediate is further condensed with ethyl 2-oxo-4-phenylbutyrate and hydrogenated using a Raney-Nickel catalyst to produce N2-(1-(S)-ethoxycarbonyl-3-phenylpropyl)-L-N6-(trifluoroacetyl)-L-lysyl-L-proline. Finally, this compound is hydrolyzed with sodium hydroxide to yield Lisinopril.

Lisinopril is a white to off-white, odourless crystalline powder having the molecular formula C21H31N3O5 and a molecular weight of 405.5 g/mol. It is soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and practically insoluble in organic solvents such as chloroform and ether. Its melting point is 148 °C. It has a pKa value of 2.5 (at 25 °C). Its common name is Zestril. Lisinopril is a potent antihypertensive drug used to treat hypertension and heart problems by inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme and renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system.
