The flash point of the compound is also around 600°C. Its pH typically ranges between 7 and 9. Being hygroscopic, it can absorb moisture from the air and is stable under normal storage conditions. However, Lithium Nitrate is incompatible with reducing agents, organic materials, strong acids, and powdered metals. Its oxidizing properties can accelerate combustion and potentially lead to explosions if exposed to prolonged heat.

In practical applications, Lithium Nitrate has diverse uses across sectors like chemicals, ceramics, electronics, and more. It is used as an oxidizing agent in firecrackers and flares, and as a rocket propellant, aiding in spacecraft propulsion. In the ceramics industry, it plays a role in various production processes.
