It encompasses all critical aspects necessary for N-Butyl Acrylate production, including the cost of N-Butyl Acrylate production, N-Butyl Acrylate plant cost, N-Butyl Acrylate production costs, and the overall N-Butyl Acrylate production plant cost. Additionally, the study covers specific expenditures associated with setting up and operating a N-Butyl Acrylate production plant. These encompass production processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure needs, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, and more.

N-butyl acrylate is an organic chemical compound that finds a wide range of applications in various industries. It is extensively utilized in the manufacture of thermoplastic ethylene-acrylate copolymers that are further used as carrier resins for concentrates used in hoses, tubes, and films. Moreover, it also finds its application in the production of copolymers for paints, coatings, printing inks, and adhesives due to its exceptional properties of high hardness, durability, and weather resistance. Additionally, it is often utilized in the production of plastics and impact-resistant polymers.

The market for N-butyl acrylate is mainly driven by its employment as a component in the production of thermoplastic ethylene-acrylate copolymers and various specialized polymers, which significantly boosts its demand in the plastics and polymer industries. Moreover, its application as a raw material in the manufacture of paints, coatings, adhesives, inks, etc., further enhances its demand in the paints & coatings, adhesives, printing, and textiles industries.

Additionally, its usage in the production of hoses, tubes, sealants, flooring adhesives, and various construction materials remarkably accentuates its demand in the automotive and construction industries. Furthermore, several factors, such as the availability of raw materials (acrylic acid, etc.), cost and pricing, supplier relationships, quality standards, technological advancements, environmental considerations, sustainability practices, distribution (including trading and shipping), logistics, and safety standards, etc., influence industrial N-Butyl Acrylate procurement globally.

Raw Material for N-Butyl Acrylate Production

According to the N-Butyl Acrylate production plant project report, the major raw materials for N-Butyl Acrylate production include Acrylic Acid-N-Butanol.

Manufacturing Process of N-Butyl Acrylate

The extensive N-Butyl Acrylate production cost report consists of the following industrial production process:

  • Production via Esterification Reaction: This method of production involves the process of esterification between acrylic acid (AA) and n-butanol (n-BuOH) in a homogeneously catalyzed multi-stage process using two reactors, followed by purification to produce N-butyl acrylate as the product, along with water as the by-product. In this method, ester-grade acrylic acid and n-butanol are fed to the reaction system in the presence of a p-toluene sulfonic acid catalyst, followed by the purification of the product in a wash column to obtain high-purity N-butyl acrylate as the final product.

N-Butyl Acrylate is a form of an acrylate ester that is functionally related to a butan-1-ol and an acrylic acid. The molecular formula of the compound is C7H12O2, and its molar mass is 128.17 g/mol. Moreover, the compound appears as a colorless clear liquid that has a characteristic odor and does not completely dissolve in water. The IUPAC name of the compound is butyl prop-2-enoate, and its density is 0.89 g/cm3. Additionally, the boiling point of the compound is 145-149 °C, and its melting point is 64 °C. The flash point of the compound is 120 °F, and its autoignition temperature is 534 °F. The compound often undergoes polymerization in the presence of elevated temperature, oxidizers, or sunlight.
