Paraformaldehyde Production Cost Reports

Chemicals

Paraformaldehyde production cost report provides a comprehensive analysis and know-how for setting up a Paraformaldehyde production plant. The study covers all the requisite aspects that one needs to know for the production of Paraformaldehyde. This includes manufacturing processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure requirements, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, etc.

Paraformaldehyde Production Cost Report

Paraformaldehyde (HO(CH2-O)xH- x averaging about 30) (IUPAC name- Polyoxymethylene, POM) is the smallest polyoxymethylene. It's a macromolecule made up of repeating methyleneoxy units arising from formaldehyde polymerisation.

It looks like a white to off-white crystalline solid that has a light pungent formaldehyde-like odour. It is sparingly soluble in water and is soluble in chlorophenol above 70°C. It is flammable but might take some time to ignite. It has a molar mass of 90.08 g/mol and has a density of 0.88 g/cm3. Its respective melting, boiling, and flash points are 120-170 °C (lit.), 107.25°C (rough estimate) and 158 °F. It is a stable compound that is incompatible with organic acids, strong acids, oxides, strong bases, strong oxidising agents, alkalies, and amines. Its dust might create an explosive mix with air.

Paraformaldehyde is used in bactericides, disinfectants, fungicides, fixation, fumigants and to manufacture adhesives and pure formaldehyde. In the organic chemical industry, it is used as a raw material and to make synthetic resin (like artificial angle products or artificial Ivors, melamine resin, phenol resin and polyacetal resin) and adhesives.

Furthermore, it finds application in the pharmaceutical industry as an active ingredient of contraceptive cream and clothing, wards, and bedding etc., which is furthering its market demand. Also, it is employed in other applications, such as in cell culture, as a fixative in electron microscopy, for preparing formalin fixatives for tissues or cells, as a fixative, and so on.
