Permethrin Production Cost Reports

Agriculture, Farming and Commodity

The report provides a detailed analysis essential for establishing a Permethrin manufacturing plant. It encompasses all critical aspects necessary for Permethrin production, including the cost of Permethrin production, Permethrin plant cost, Permethrin production costs, and the overall Permethrin manufacturing plant cost. Additionally, the study covers specific expenditures associated with setting up and operating a Permethrin production plant. These encompass manufacturing processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure needs, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, and more.

Permethrin belongs to the pyrethroid family and is used in the preparation of toxic insecticides. It is utilized in pharmaceutical and chemical products, including insect-repellent lotions, creams, and more. It is also used in the formulation of medications in the form of lotions and ointments that are used to treat scabies. It is an effective and safe chemical that can be applied over the area with scabies mites. It works by affecting the nutrient transport in the arthropod’s neuronal membranes, leading to respiratory paralysis in such mites. Also, it is present in aerosol solutions, sprays, lotions, powders, liquid and cloth treating chemicals. It also works as an insect repellent and is used to kill mosquitoes, termites, lice, etc.

The demand for Permethrin is affected by its usage as an insecticide in different chemical products. Its utilization as an insecticide to protect crops in regions like Asia-Pacific contributes to its demand. Its effectiveness as an insecticide in the production of mosquito repellent, insect repellent lotions, creams, sprays, etc., strengthens its market growth. Government policies that promote agricultural productivity and safe pesticide use improve market demand, and development in research leads to innovative formulations that improve efficacy and reduce toxicity. Overall, industrial permethrin procurement is governed by its growing need as an insecticide in agriculture and pharmaceuticals, along with consumer awareness, supportive government policies, and constant improvement.

Raw Material for Permethrin Production

According to the Permethrin manufacturing plant project report, the key raw materials used in the production of Permethrin include (1,1-Dichloro-4-Methyl-1,3-Pentadiene)-Ethyl Diazoacetate-(n-Hexane)-(3-Phenoxybenzyl Alcohol).

Manufacturing Process of Permethrin

The extensive Permethrin production cost report consists of the following major industrial manufacturing process:

  1. Production From 1,1-Dichloro-4-Methyl-1,3-Pentadiene, Ethyl Diazoacetate, n-Hexane, and 3-Phenoxybenzyl Alcohol: The manufacturing process of Permethrin involves a chemical reaction between 1,1-dichloro-4-methyl-1,3-pentadiene and ethyl diazoacetate in the presence of a copper catalyst. This reaction leads to the formation of ethyl (±)-cis, trans-2,2-dimethyl-3-(2,2-dichloro vinyl) cyclopropane carboxylate, followed by its hydrolyzation, forming an intermediate. The cis and trans isomers are separated by treating the intermediate acid with n-hexane. The precipitated trans-isomer is filtered and reacted with 3-phenoxybenzyl alcohol, forming Permethrin as the final product.

Permethrin has a molecular formula C21H20Cl2O3, and its molecular weight is 391.3 g/mol. It appears as a colorless to white crystalline solid with a density in the range of 1.19 g/cm³ under a standard temperature of 25 °C. Its melting point is in the range of 34°C to 39 °C, and its boiling point is 220 °C. It remains stable under normal conditions but decomposes when heated at a high temperature releasing toxic fumes of hydrogen chloride in the air. It is a viscous liquid and shows no solubility in water but dissolves in ethanol, chloroform, ether, and acetone. Similarly, it is soluble in cyclohexanone, hexane, methanol, xylene, and dichloromethane.
