Polyisobutylene Production Cost Reports
Chemicals
Polyisobutylene production cost report provides a comprehensive analysis and know-how for setting up a Polyisobutylene production plant. The study covers all the requisite aspects that one needs to know for the production of Polyisobutylene. This includes manufacturing processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure requirements, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, etc.
Polyisobutylene (PIB) is an industrial polymer resin manufactured by polymerizing the isobutylene monomer. It is a colorless, gummy solid material that is impermeable to gaseous compounds. The synthetic polymer resin comes in a wide range of molecular weights, varying from 45,000 to 2,110,000 u. It is odorless and tasteless, with a slight yellowish color. Its melting point is around 54°C, and the boiling point is approximately 300°C.
Polyisobutylene elastomers are less reactive resins and are used as modifiers for various industrial products, particularly in the petrochemical industry, such as adhesives and sealants. The elastomer has a very low glass transition temperature, measuring around -60°C, which allows it to maintain high flexibility at low temperatures. It also possesses high moisture transfer ability, making it an ideal raw material for sealant formulations. When coated with a crystalline polyolefin layer, these resins become soluble in aliphatic solvents.
The resin is widely used in the petrochemical industry to manufacture various industrial products. It serves as a key ingredient in sealant and adhesive formulations. Additionally, it finds application in the production of lubricants, oils, and motor fuels used in automobiles.
The chemical resin's resistance to fuel injector fouling leads to a reduction in hydrocarbon and particulate emissions, making it beneficial for use in fuels as an additive. It is also used as a thickening agent in the manufacturing of sporting equipment and finds applications in the production of agricultural chemicals, paper adhesives, caulks, chewing gums, bottle stoppers, and more.
