Mentha Oil Price Trend Q4 2025

In the fourth quarter of 2025, the prices of Mentha Oil in the Indian market registered an upward trend. This increase in prices was due to stable consumption from major sectors like oral care, pharmaceuticals, confectionery, and wellness. Toothpaste, balms, and cough medicines maintained stable demand, which helped maintain strong buying activity in the domestic market.

On the supply side, the supply from major producing areas was stable, and farmers and stockists were selling the material in a controlled manner. Apart from this, seasonal factors also impacted the market, as the post-harvest supply had already been sold out in the market, and the end of the quarter witnessed tight supply in the market. Export inquiries also supported the prices, and the market participants did not indulge in stocking the material, as the demand was strong enough to register an increase in prices from month to month.

Further, production of alternative menthol products remained stable, which helped balance extreme volatility, but natural oil demand continued to stay firm. Overall, Q4’25 reflected a balanced yet slightly bullish market tone in India, with gradual gains rather than sharp spikes. The prices settled at around 11603 USD/MT (FOB) during December’25.

Analyst Insight

According to Procurement Resource, Mentha Oil prices are expected to remain firm, supported by steady domestic demand and controlled supply conditions.

During the third quarter of 2025, mentha oil markets experienced a notable upward trajectory. The period began with steady momentum in July, which continued building through August as values climbed further.

September maintained this positive direction, though the pace of increase moderated slightly compared to the previous month. Overall, the quarter demonstrated consistent strength, with values advancing progressively across all three months.

This upward movement occurred against a backdrop of growing trade uncertainties. The mentha oil sector, particularly in major production regions like Rampur, faced significant challenges as international trade dynamics shifted.

Export-oriented businesses encountered difficulties with order fulfilment and buyer hesitation became more prevalent. The production community, including numerous small-scale cultivators, confronted mounting concerns about profitability and market access.

Supply chain disruptions became increasingly apparent as the quarter progressed. Manufacturing units reported inventory buildups while overseas demand patterns changed substantially. The combination of rising domestic valuations and complicated export conditions created an unusual market situation where price gains did not necessarily translate into improved business conditions for all stakeholders in the value chain.

About Mentha Oil

Steam distillation and filtration of dried Mentha arvensis leaves or simply mentha (mint) results in the production of Mentha Oil. This is further processed in order to yield menthol along with other derivatives. Mentha Oil and its derivatives are extensively utilised in food, pharmaceutical, perfumery, and flavouring industry. Menthol and mint essential oil are also used in aromatherapy which may have therapeutic and clinical effect.
