BCPL Will Establish Facilities Worth INR 386.75 Crores For The Production Of Butene-1 And HPG-2
BCPL (Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited) is adding the latest 1,200 KTPA capacity to its existing market share in the upcoming years. The company's plan for this expansion is to boost its capacity from the present 280 KTPA by more than 140% in the initial phase, while the remaining addition in capacity will take place in the following phase.

BCPL constitutes a network of four workstations, including GDU Duliajan, which receives the supply of Feed Natural Gas from M/s. Oil India Limited; Railway Siding that receives Naphtha from M/s. NRL; Lakwa GSU Cum C2+ Hydro Carbon Recovery Unit where the processing of M/s. ONGC's Feed Natural Gas takes place, and lastly, the major Petrochemical Complex at Lepetkata, Dibrugarh, where polymers are finally made via feedstock processing.
The company's main products include Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), which totals 2, 20,000 Tonnes per Annum (TPA) along with Poly-Propylene (PP) of 60,000 TPA. Other products of the company include Pyrolysis Fuel Oil and Hydrogenated Pyrolysis Gasoline.
BCPL uses various technologies for their operations, including a licensed technology in Lummus, USA, that includes a dual feed cracker which uses feedstock C2+ liquid and naphtha for producing polymer-grade Ethylene and polymer-grade Propylene. The company also has a licenced technology by INEOS Technology, UK which enables the production of Polyethylene grades with a specific MI value range. Also, they have a Gas Phase, Lummus Novolen Technology GmbH (NTH), from Germany, which produces several polypropylene grades.
