Natural gas infrastructure

Oil India Limited (OIL) and Indra Dhanus Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) have recently entered into significant hook-up agreements to enhance the natural gas infrastructure in the North-East region of India.

These agreements, signed at a ceremony on August 31, 2024, at the field headquarters of OIL in Duliajan, will connect OIL’s natural gas fields in Upper Assam to the Duliajan Feeder Line of the North-East Gas Grid. Additionally, the agreement facilitates the evacuation of natural gas from OIL’s DSF block in Tripura via IGGL’s 12-inch NB x 86 km Agartala-Tulamura natural gas pipeline.

This collaboration pivotally aims at emboldening OIL’s objective of advancing a gas-based economy and bolstering the energy infrastructure in the region, reflecting a strategic move towards sustainable energy solutions.
